Before the Yarn Crawl, I put myself on a strict yarn diet. I wasn't going to buy any yarn because I knew I would be purchasing a lot during that weekend. And now, since I'm not waiting for that moment when I am able to go to yarn shops...I kinda want every pretty skein of yarn I spy from hand-dyers. Whoops. But my last couple of purchases were for sweaters I've had in the queue for a long time (Driftwood) (or short time, since one of them is Crosby from the latest Brooklyn Tweed). And I can justify it because I don't buy clothes on a regular basis, so buying yarn to make a sweater and having the enjoyment of making the sweater and THEN wearing it just makes sense to me. So that's where I am on projects besides continuing to work on my Traveling Woman shawl. I really just want a whole day to do nothing but knit especially with how nice it is getting here outside. I'm also craving to dye something, fabric, yarn, anything. I cannot wait for when I'm able to have my own studio and play with colors and dyes and whatnot. Someday, someday soon.
In thinking about today's post, I thought about what was inspiring me this week. The Soak Wash Photo-a-Day has been pretty inspiring, and I've gotten to connect a little with lots of other knitters on there and see what they're doing for their photos. I get to teach my friend how to knit socks this evening, so I'm super pumped and inspired by that. Also, next week is the San Diego Yarn Crawl, and obviously I'm over the moon about that! So, I guess the rest of this post will be other little things I have found interesting or inspiring today. Enjoy!
I saw these neat knitted teacup pockets online today. You should check those out.
I really want to get a YarnBox Subscription...bad.
Brooklyn Tweed's Fall '14 collection is amazing and wonderful and I want to knit it all.
I plan on heading over to the Mesa Arts Center for this event tomorrow night!
That's all I have for you today. Tomorrow I will let you know how tonight's sock knitting lesson goes!
